RUSSIAN SONGWRITERS AT UCSD

Russian songwriter Victor Berkovsky will sing with musician
and scientist Dmitry Bogdanov Monday, August 19, 1996 at 7 p.m.

Viktor Berkovsky's music has been made widely popular
by Sergei and Tatiana Nikitin and by numerous amateurs
who were singing his songs since late 50's. In early 70's,
Berkovsky started performing his work himself. He composed
"Grenada", "Smugglers", "An Old Man and Tyaba", "Listening Vivaldi",
"Alma mater" and many other songs inspired by classical as well as
Russian and Jewish folk music. He has also written a number
of children's songs, including such a favorite as "Let's dance,
Peggy!"

Since early 80's, Berkovsky is always singing with a talented
musician Dmitry Bogdanov. Their duet is highly appreciated in
